Young Jeremy — magic era

Before cameras, there was magic.

One

Before cameras, there was magic.

At 12 years old, Jeremy had a paper route earning $2.20 a day. He wasn't saving for video games. He was saving for a magic kit — building a corporate magic show while doing sleight of hand between classes in grade 5. His parents were professional violinists. Assistant concertmaster. KW Symphony. Touring from Dubai to Arthur, Ontario. Their kid was dragging 50-pound speakers to concert halls and falling asleep in the wings until Dancing Queen came on.

He was learning something without knowing it: that craft takes obsession. That performance is a discipline. That the best thing in the world is making a room feel something they didn't expect to feel.

He just didn't have a camera yet.

Two

"Yellow light. 1:43. A school bus. Grade 10."

November. A 50-minute bus ride. Monsters of Men playing through cheap earbuds.

Jeremy closed his eyes and saw it: mountains, Mexico, a wedding photography business. The whole thing. It felt so real he could physically feel it in his chest — like a memory of something that hadn't happened yet.

Two months later he posted ads on Kijiji. A realtor messaged him wanting to plan his girlfriend's proposal. He said yes before he knew what he was doing.

G2 licence. Blizzard. 17 years old. The highest feeling he'd ever had.

He drove home from that proposal shoot in his parents' car, in a snowstorm, with a camera he barely knew how to use — and felt something click into place that has never clicked back out. He started Jeremy Daly Photography that month.

His first wedding was at Hacienda Sarria. His best friend Spencer came as second shooter. They had the absolute time of their lives. That wedding booked him 14 more.

By the end of grade 11, Jeremy had shot 30 weddings. He was skipping school. His parents were surprisingly cool about it.

The beginning.

Four

800 people. A surprise film. And a maid of honour with a flight to book.

September of his first year. An 800-person wedding. Jeremy decides on the spot — mid-reception, mid-dinner — to make a same-day film. Nobody asked for it. Nobody knew it was coming. He edited during dinner. He pressed play during dessert. The bride cried. The groom cried. The whole room watched. And then the maid of honour found him in the hallway.

"Jeremy. That video was amazing. Are you open to coming to Mexico?"

He had a G2 licence and a camera bag. He said yes. Seven days later, he was on a plane. He locked himself out of his hotel room in a towel on the first night. He didn't care. He was exactly where he was supposed to be.

Five

Mexico. Jamaica. The Bahamas. The Highlands. The Mountains. And still going.

His first destination wedding was within 10 months of picking up a camera. By the time he finished grade 12, he had five destination weddings booked for the following year. He missed three weeks of classes. His passport was getting full.

What followed was a decade of wedding days across 60+ destinations — venues he researched for months and venues that made him stop mid-setup just to look. Couples who trusted him with the most important day of their lives. Moments he was in the room for that nobody else would ever see.

400+ weddings. One consistent feeling: this is exactly what I'm supposed to be doing.

60+ destinations and counting.

The photographer is a builder. An obsessive.

Jeremy builds businesses. He reads. He lifts. He does 40-minute sauna sessions and once spent an entire year hunting the best and worst saunas in Ontario on YouTube just because he found it interesting. He listens to Milky Chance, Ocie Elliott, and whatever sounds right for a Tuesday evening drive. He cares deeply about coffee — the community behind it more than the caffeine itself.

He grew up watching his parents give everything to their craft, refining something for hours until it didn't just sound right, it meant something. He does the same thing with every gallery he delivers.

He still gets nervous before every wedding. He considers that a good sign.

The Philosophy

"Photographs aren't for the day. They're for the decades after it."

The morning your mother zipped your dress will never happen again. The way your partner's voice broke during the vows. The look on your grandma's face at 11pm when she thought nobody was watching. You can't recreate those. You can only be ready for them.

Jeremy's job is to be the most prepared person in the room — so you never have to be. He's thought about your venue, the light at 4pm, how long family portraits actually take, and what your portraits could look like — before he ever walks through the door.

He does photo and film together because he watched what happens when two separate teams compete for a couple's attention. The day becomes a production. The couple becomes a subject. He refused to be part of that.

One creative. One vision. Your whole day — held.

Photo and film with rhythm, presence, and heart.

Life Right Now

Traveling for weddings.
Celebrating love in every city.

These days, life looks like early flights, unfamiliar cities, and cocktail bars I've never been to before — toasting with friends, strangers, and couples who trusted me with something sacred.

I photograph weddings from coast to coast, destination to destination. Every trip is a reminder that what I do for a living is a genuine privilege — showing up on the most important day of someone's life and being allowed to make it beautiful.

To every couple who has ever booked me — thank you. You gave me the life I dreamed of.

I don't take that lightly. Not for a single wedding. Not for a single shot.

Jeremy Daly — Photographer. Filmmaker. Grateful human.
