Started with a dream

From Paperboy to Destination Wedding Photographer

It all started at 17 — one of Canada’s youngest destination wedding photographers and videographers, booking 14 weddings during grade 11 and heading to Mexico for my first international shoot. My passion for capturing love and connection has taken me to over 60 destination weddings across the globe, and I’ve shot over 300 weddings in my career.

$2.20 a day to invest in my magic collection

When I was in SK I’d see the paper boy on our street daily and would day dream of owning his route one day (hyper-fixation or manifestation? Perhaps a bit of both!)

At 12 years old, I started a paper route, earning $2.20 a day — a small but significant start toward my dream of becoming a professional magician.

I’d practice slight of hand during my grade 5 classes – learning the art of performance, and saving for corporate events. It was my first taste of dedication, sacrifice, and the joy of making dreams come true. Little did I know, the lessons from those early days would shape my journey, teaching me the value of hard work and attention to detail, lessons I carry with me in every wedding I capture today.

Rad Parents Doing What They Love (& Carrying Their Band Gear)

My parents are so cool (yes I mean that Mom & Dad if you are reading this)!

Both professional violinists, they’ve been rock stars and classically trained legends. My mom earned the assistant concertmaster role in her twenties, landing her a spot with the KW Symphony for decades. But it didn’t stop there—they also jammed in pop and rock bands, touring all over the globe from Dubai to the USA, and even to Arthur, Ontario.

As their little groupie, I was the one lugging 50-pound speakers (way too heavy for a 9-year-old, trust me!) and watching them light up stages, sharing their love for music and delivering unforgettable performances. Their dedication to their craft, their drive for excellence, and their passion for entertaining have been a huge inspiration for me to always go above and beyond. (and falling asleep during every concert until dancing queen was played – yep they play in an Abba show)

Mastery

Growing up, I witnessed both my parents dedicate decades to perfecting their craft — spending hours on just a few bars of music, all while starting their journey at the age of four. Their relentless pursuit of mastery left a lasting impression on me, inspiring me to go all in on my own passions. From a young age, I understood the importance of going above and beyond, not only to elevate my craft but to bring true value to the community around me.

Each Hobby Amplified

As I got older, I realized magic wasn’t quite the hit with girls, so I took a step back and shifted my focus.

But my drive for mastery didn’t waver.

I immersed myself in niche sports and local communities, learning multiple instruments, building brands, creating websites, securing sponsorships, and using photo, video, and online media to tell the stories that connected people.

I used my savings to start collecting camera bodies, lenses, pay for hosting & domain names – while getting a tiny bit of adsense (1.89/month was great) & advertiser income – all while learning the crafts of my niche interests & meeting many humans to help amplifying their story or join my team members that created content and I’d edit for our media networks.

It was all about capturing moments, sharing stories, and bringing people together – I just was learning the basics before the big launch into weddings!

It all started with a “bang”

Jan 19th 2014

After five years of honing my skills in photography, videography, and editing through various projects from gr 6-grade 10, I found myself at a crossroads, eager to grow and learn something new.

One day, while listening to Monsters of Men (1:43 of Yellow Light), I visualized my future on my daily 50-minute bus ride to school.

I pictured myself launching a wedding photography business, driving through mountains, and flying to Mexico and beyond to capture love stories around the world – all to this empowering song that made me feel so present in the moment & full of gratitude.

It wasn’t until I posted a few ads on Kijiji in December of grade 10 that everything clicked!!!!

A realtor secretly messaged me, asking me to plan his proposal to his fiancée. That shoot became the turning point, setting me on the path to my dream career — one that would change my life forever.

Driving home (few months getting my G2 in a blizard) that cold January day was the highest feeling I’ve ever felt – a new direction, excitement, hope. So I started Jeremy Daly Photography that month & started spreading the word!!

Posting The Proposal Photos Got Me My First Wedding!!

After the fireworks photo shoot, I had the honor of shooting my first wedding, capturing both photo and video at the same time at Hacienda Sarria, a prestigious venue in my town.

It was a thrilling and nerve-wracking experience, made even better by bringing my best friend Spencer along as a second shooter. We had the time of our lives, documenting the day with excitement and passion.

I couldn’t believe it — just months after visualizing this moment the previous November, I was already living my dream, shooting my first wedding at 17. It was the start of something unforgettable.

It ended on a note of pure bliss, with my best friend Spencer by my side on the balcony, soaking in the warm, fuzzy feeling of anticipation for the countless weddings we’d capture in the future. This experience wasn’t just about the photographs or films; it was a romance with dream/vision and what could be the rest of my life just like capturing the start of a new journey of my clients that day.

That Wedding booked me 14 weddings in my first year…

April 21 2014

June 2014

It was the best year of my life!!! I had the honour of doing 14 weddings while providing both mediums of photo & video in 2014.

On top, meeting so many amazing talented creatives to second shoot an addition 15 weddings topping 30 in my first year!

I was loving my life, driving my parents 03 Sebring convertible with the top down all while learning how to do this wedding thing all in the summer of grade 11 about to enter grade 12.

Every day I’d play my favourite uplifting songs and still hungry to make that destination wedding dream a reality.

I shot a wedding with 800 people and surprised them a same day wedding film that booked me my first………

In September of my first wedding season I was shooting that Realtor’s wedding that hired me the past January for his proposal.

There was 800 PEOPLE at their wedding!! What a fun night getting lost in the crowd capturing their day.

That’s when I decided for the first time to offer a surprise same day highlight film for everyone to enjoy…

Outside of the rewarding feeling of seeing the bride and groom cry and all 800 people enjoy, the maid of honour HAD to talk to me!

She pulled me outisde the venue and asked me…

“Jeremy! That video was amazing… Are you open to coming to Mexico to capture my brothers wedding?!”

….

My heart was so open, racing, and excited.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! So I said YES! When! Where! Who!

“Jeremy – we leave in 7 days…”

I’M IN!

Destination Wedding! Within 10 Months Flying To Mexico

It was an incredible week.

Coco Boncos

Hanging with the group till 6 am every night.

Getting to know the ins/outs of capturing a destination wedding.

On top, walking into my own hotel room for the first time? Adulting felt cool.

Until I walked on to the balcony in just my towels and realized I locked the door behind me (help).

This trip FUELD so much energy in my veins to be open.

From this wedding it booked me 5 destination weddings for the next year in 2015 as I finished up grade 12 and missed three weeks of classes for.

Wow my first year was TOO much fun – How can we make next year EPIC?! (Epic was a word we used back then)

2014 was a strong benchmark to what life could look like!

My first destination wedding.

Over 30 weddings under my belt learning form others and 14 my own.

That winter I booked 5 destination weddings and 20 weddings on my own overall heading into grade 12!

Skipping classes, hopping in Limos, visiting the fanciest locations in Bahamas, shooting weddings in Jamaica twice, Mexico & More.

This next wedding season set the stage of what I wanted out of this life.

I booked everything I wanted expect for one thing.

The mountains….

Another Dream Met….

Back in 2013 November in grade 10 listening to yellow light I had another dream I was eager for.

The mountains!!!!

After building up my brand I started connecting with amaizng coupels out west and finally booked my first few weddings out west!

WOOT WOOT!

Helicopter rides – canoe rides – fancy pasta – Quirky Airbnbs.

I LOVED IT.

And we found a rhythm! Bring On Wedding Seasons & Travel – buying my dream condo

Exploding with excitement I launched after high school enjoying many wedding seasons, developing a caffeine addiction, & adventuring into any wedding any where…

I love every step! Settled in a cute condo while operating weddings where my clients where flying me into.

The next coming years I’d put in the work.
